PayPal Phishing Scams Becoming More Realistic

There are several scams circulating the phone lines, snail mail and of course the internet. Internet scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated and more and more realistic. These so called phishing scams can come up on anyone’s email account, and a lot of them look legit and are complete with logos.

“They used to do it on the phone, in person, but now they use email because they can sent out a million at a time,” Better Business Bureau CEO John Row said.

Here’s one supposedly from Paypal, claiming almost four hundred dollars spent. This email looks similar to one you might get confirming a purchase you’ve made. Once the receiver opens it, it is meant to immediately register with them as fake…this is the hook line.
