eBay Sellers Beg Google to Get Into Auction Business

ebay.jpgeBay Sellers are pulling out all the stops to get Google into the online auction business.

Here are some quotes from the Google Group, “Google We Need An Auction Site“:

EBAY IS ONE OF THE WORST COMPANIES IN THE U.S.

I have sold over 400,000 items on eBay. I have been flown to San Jose at eBay’s expense to be told that they are available 24/7. However, have a problem and it is like there is only one person in all of ebay. I have emailed Bill Cobb on at least five occasions and Meg Whitman three times and I have never received a return email.

Here is another voice:

Take e-Bay (away)…PLEASE!!!

I am also a small store seller on e-Bay and am aghast at both the enormous fee hike AND reduced exposure.

- Sad eBayer

There is also a resurrected petition with over 800 signatures asking Google to get into the auction business.

“we need an alternative… perhaps this is where our favorite company… Google comes in.

Please do it…”

With eBay stock at a 2 year low, traffic down 10 Million visitors a day and the new fee increases coming in the next two weeks, timing might be great for Google to swoop in.
