It may not be as critically acclaimed as My Dinner with Andre. But it probably won’t be as pretentious, either.

We speak of a charity luncheon with Warren Buffett, the plain-spoken prairie billionaire.

The chance to chat and chew with the Berkshire Hathaway (nyse: BRK.A - news - people ) chairman was auctioned via eBay (nasdaq: EBAY - news - people ), in a sale ending Thursday night at $620,100.

Putting on the platinum feedbag with Buffett: Palo Alto, Calif.-based investor Yongping Duan, more familiar to auction watchers under his eBay user name, “fastisslow.” He beat out a $620,000 bid from “magicyourlife.”

Maybe Duan was hungrier–his meal will cost nearly double the winning bid for last year’s dining experience, which went for $351,100.

Earth’s second-richest man is a big believer in philanthropy, as we’ve seen this month–and donates a lot more than just his time and wisdom.
