eBay Live Unveiled

As the fifth annual eBay Live conference came to an end, it’s safe to say the three-day auction-fest was a success.

eBay unveiled several appealing new initiatives. Its Skype Me tool will allow real-time buyer-seller conversation, its Member Blogs and eBay Wiki will foster community, and its AdContext program is sure to boost eBay’s already mammoth traffic levels.

eBay continues to innovate, proving that there is definitely life in the auction giant. However, not all of the 15,000 conference attendees went home happy.

A few attendees were seen wearing caps made of aluminum foil. These funny hats were a silent protest against what these members see as eBay brainwashing tactics.

These merchants aren’t thrilled with seller life, particularly the auction fraud (which continues even as eBay combats it), problems with customer service (something many sellers grumble about), and last year’s boost in listing fees (don’t fees always seem to be going up?).
