eBay still strong buy after COO departure

Saying he is not “overly concerned” about the announced departure of eBay’s chief operating officer, Standard & Poor’s Equity Research analyst Scott Kessler reiterated a “strong buy” opinion on shares of the online auction marketplace.

On Monday, eBay (nasdaq: EBAY - news - people ) announced that COO Maynard Webb will retire in August.

“Webb has been responsible for corporate operations and eBay has no plans to fill his role, we believe, because much of its operations were decentralized over the past year,” the analyst said.
