eBay Inc.’s Internet-phone unit has been ensnared in Advanced Micro Devices Inc.’s antitrust suit against Intel Corp., its rival in the computer-chip market.
AMD, the world’s No. 2 chipmaker, is seeking documents from Skype Inc. about its dealings with Intel, according to a subpoena dated Feb. 28.
AMD alleges that Skype has set up the second version of its software program so only consumers with PCs powered by Intel chips can make 10-person conference calls — something AMD claims is anticompetitive and against the best interests of consumers.
