NextWorth is a new eBay consignment service. David Chen, Andrew Walsh and Scott Richardson launched NextWorth in November 2005 (http://www.nextworth.com). The company offers a “PreBay” service where items are listed locally before being listed on eBay. They also offer pick-up service, and use Independent Asset Consultants to bring in items.

The company also launched a trading program for iPods in which people around the country can enter their iPod model into a form on the NextWorth website and receive a trade-in quote. NextWorth will send a box with a pre-paid UPS shipping label inside for the customer to send back the iPod. NextWorth will send the iPod owner a check upon receipt of the item. The program is similar to sporting-good trade-in programs that have been developed, such as the PGA Trade-In Network (http://tradein.pga.com).
